In late October, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange issued an announcement to impose trading restrictions on some glass futures contracts to curb speculative demand. Restricted by the policies of regulatory authorities, glass futures have experienced short-term adjustment. However, under the guidance of its strong fundamentals, futures prices quickly stopped falling and stabilized.
Supply analysis
In terms of output, according to the data released by the National Bureau of statistics, in June 2021, the domestic output of flat glass was 87.07 million heavy boxes, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%; From January to June, the output of flat glass was 508.41 million boxes, a year-on-year increase of 10.8%. Thanks to higher production profits, domestic production lines resumed to increase production this year, resulting in an increase in output. According to the monitoring, as of July 29, taking coal to gas as an example, the price of float glass was 2800 yuan / ton and the profit was about 1445 yuan / ton; Taking natural gas as an example, the price of float glass is 3100 yuan / ton and the profit is 1387 yuan / ton; Taking petroleum coke as an example, the price of float glass is 3106 yuan / ton and the profit is 1788 yuan / ton.
